Refund Policy
1. General Policy
All donations made through the website and services (collectively, the "Services") operated by DonorKit, Inc. ("Operator") on behalf of Lake Ozark Christian Church Inc., a Missouri nonprofit corporation ("Organization"), are voluntary, irrevocable gifts. References to "we," "us," or "our" may refer to the Operator, the Organization, or both, as applicable. Donations are generally non-refundable. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donated funds are typically allocated to ministry operations, programs, and outreach efforts immediately upon receipt.
The Organization reserves the sole and absolute discretion to determine whether a refund request will be granted. The approval of any refund request does not create a precedent or obligation to approve similar requests in the future.
2. Payment Processing
All donations are processed by DonorKit, Inc. using Stripe, Inc.'s secure payment platform. The Organization does not have direct access to your payment card numbers or bank account details, which are handled exclusively by DonorKit, Inc. and Stripe, Inc. Refund requests are processed through DonorKit's systems in coordination with Stripe.
3. Limited Refund Circumstances
The Organization may, in its sole discretion, consider refund requests only in the following limited circumstances:
3.1 Duplicate Transactions
If a verifiable duplicate transaction occurred (same amount, same payment method, same date) due to a technical error, the Organization may refund the duplicate charge upon verification.
3.2 Demonstrable Processing Errors
If a demonstrable processing error resulted in an incorrect charge amount that differs significantly from the intended donation (e.g., an extra digit was added), the Organization may consider a partial or full refund. You must provide evidence of the intended donation amount.
3.3 Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe a donation was made without your authorization due to theft, fraud, or unauthorized use of your payment method, you must: (a) contact us immediately; (b) provide documentation supporting your claim; and (c) file a report with your financial institution. The Organization will cooperate with reasonable investigations but makes no guarantee regarding refunds for claimed unauthorized transactions.
4. Refund Request Requirements
To request a refund, you must submit a written request within thirty (30) days of the original transaction date. Your request must include:
- Full legal name of the donor
- Email address used for the donation
- Date of the donation
- Exact amount of the donation
- Last four digits of the payment method used
- Detailed explanation and reason for the refund request
- Supporting documentation (if applicable)
Incomplete requests will not be processed. We reserve the right to request additional information or documentation to verify your identity and the transaction.
5. Refund Request Deadline
Refund requests must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the original transaction date. Requests received after this period will be denied except in extraordinary circumstances as determined in our sole discretion. In no event will refund requests submitted more than ninety (90) days after the transaction date be considered.
6. Refund Processing
If a refund is approved:
- Refunds will be credited only to the original payment method used for the donation
- Credit card refunds typically appear within five to ten (5-10) business days
- Bank account refunds may take up to ten (10) business days
- We are not responsible for delays caused by financial institutions
- Processing fees may be deducted from refund amounts at our discretion
7. Recurring Donations
7.1 Cancellation
You may cancel recurring donations at any time. Cancellation applies only to future scheduled donations. Donations that have already been processed are not refundable due to cancellation.
7.2 Methods to Cancel
You may cancel recurring donations through the following methods:

7.3 Processing Time
Cancellation requests require up to two (2) business days to process. If a scheduled donation is processed before your cancellation request is complete, you are responsible for that donation and it will not be refunded. To ensure a donation is not processed, submit your cancellation request at least five (5) business days before the scheduled donation date.
8. Tax Implications
IMPORTANT: If you received a tax receipt or acknowledgment letter for a donation that is subsequently refunded, the refund may have significant tax implications. The refunded amount may not be claimed as a charitable deduction on your tax return. If you have already claimed the deduction, you may be required to amend your tax return.
We do not provide tax advice. You are solely responsible for consulting with a qualified tax professional regarding the tax treatment of refunded donations.
9. Non-Refundable Circumstances
The following circumstances do not qualify for refunds:
- Change of mind or donor's remorse
- Dissatisfaction with how funds are used (all general donations support the Organization's overall ministry unless specifically designated)
- Requests submitted after the deadline periods specified in this policy
- Donations made through third-party platforms not operated by the Operator
- Claims of financial hardship arising after the donation was made
- Disputes regarding the tax-deductibility of donations
- Disputes arising from the donor's failure to review transaction details before confirming
10. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you believe a donation was made in error, you must contact us directly before initiating a dispute or chargeback with your financial institution. We are committed to resolving legitimate issues in good faith.
If you initiate a chargeback or dispute with your financial institution:
- We will provide all available documentation to the payment processor and financial institution
- Fraudulent chargebacks may be reported to appropriate authorities
- Your access to the Services may be permanently terminated
- You may be prohibited from making future donations
- We reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies

12. Policy Modifications
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Services. Your continued use of the Services or submission of donations after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the modified policy.
13. Governing Law
This Refund Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions set forth in our Terms of Service.
