Connect

Jesus tells us, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20) At Lake Ozark Christian Church we offer a variety of activities for fellowship, study, and service.

Life Together

In our Life Together, we have monthly gatherings of our Christian Men’s Fellowship and Disciples Women’s Ministry.

We have a weekly Prayer Group and a ministry of Care Connectors who assist the pastor in meeting needs due to illness or loss.

For those who love music, we have a Handbell Choir and Chancel Choir which meet weekly on Wednesday evenings.

Twice a month, we host a game day where we play Mexican Train Dominoes.

Our Lunch Bunch meets every Tuesday at a local restaurant for food and fellowship.

We host Pickleball on Fridays.

Help Neighbors

Jesus tells us the greatest commandment is to love God with all our being and to love our neighbor as ourselves. (Matthew 22:34-40) At Lake Ozark Christian Church, we believe strongly in helping our neighbors.

It was out of this great love for God as well as the great need in our community, that members of our church started Hope House, which offers short term help in times of need.  Many of our members serve as volunteers at Hope House, and we continue to partner with Hope House to offer benevolence.

In addition, for those who have fallen on hard times, through our Shelter in a Storm, we offer utility assistance, gas and grocery cards. For those without shelter, we partner with local hotels to offer a night’s rest.  All of these services are provided to our community through our church office. Because crisis rarely happens during normal business hours, we have a Pantry of Blessings located on the West side of our campus under the portico, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, filled with food, clothing, and hygiene products for emergency needs.

During Thanksgiving and Christmas, we partner with Hope House to offer gifts of food to families in need.  During Christmas, our Christmas Angel Tree program pairs families with members so that all children can receive gifts of toys, games, and clothing.

We open our facilities to be used by various organizations in our community, including Alcoholic’s Anonymous (Meet Sunday evenings at 6pm), Cub and Boy Scouts (Troop #21), MOCA HeadStart, and various PEO and service organizations.

Discuss and Learn

At Lake Ozark Christian Church, we value spiritual growth through faithful service, ardent prayer, and studious learning.

We have two adult classes.  On Sunday Morning, our Adult class is at 9:15 am and we use the Augsburg Adult Bible Study curriculum, which looks at the Scripture of the day based on the three year common lectionary cycle.  Because our minister often preaches on Scripture from the lectionary, the study often directly corresponds to the pastor’s message that morning.

Our other class meets on Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 pm.

Our current study is over the Book of Genesis and is being led by Pastor Ron.  We are learning about the early faith heroes, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and what they tell us about God, faith, and the way our Lord is faithful.

For our younger ones, on Sunday morning we offer Children’s Church and Nursery Care during the 10:30 am service.  We also offer Vacation bible School in the summer.

It is the practice of the Disciples of Christ to baptize folks when they are ready to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and seek to follow him as his disciple. To help young people in their faith, each year Pastor Ron teaches a Baptism class to prepare them.
