Chi Rho & Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)
Chi Rho is for 6th – 8th grades and CYF is for 9th – 12th grades. Both groups meet every Wednesday from 6 – 7:30 pm. Youth and families are encouraged to come for Wednesday Nite Live supper at 5:30. Youth eat for FREE. Youth leaders meet with teens for supper and we share some fellowship time together before our meetings.
Our meetings consist of contemporary Christian music, bible messages for today’s teens, prayer and fun. We serve our church and our community by volunteering our time and talents. Our favorite mission is an “adopted” child in Peru.
Every month we enjoy a “field trip” activity usually away from the church. We attend Christian concerts, youth rallies and conferences, as well as “just for fun” activities. Lock-ins and games nights and pizza nights are always popular activities.
LOCC youth also do occasional fundraising to help pay for our field trips, retreats and support for our child in Peru.
We have tons of fun as we learn and share together and we invite you to join us.
We can help arrange transportation to the church from school and back home again.
Christian Children's Fellowship (CCF)
CCF is an after-school program for children in grades K - 5th on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. from September thru May. This is a fast-moving program consisting of 20-minute segments for snacks, a lesson, crafts, recreation and music or a video. Van transportation from school is provided.
New Beginnings
This is a new program designed to offer young parents and their preschool age children a Christian focus in life and also offer support to the parents. "New Beginnings" focuses on children 0-5 years old. Educational sessions run in stages much like our CCF program -- snacks, crafts, music, Bible lessons and games. Parents must participate, but will also be assisted in establishing their own support group. LOCC staff administer and teach this free program.
Summer Church Camp and CRY (Christian Regional Youth) Festival
There are a variety of church camp programs available to the youth at Lake Ozark Christian Church. Also scheduled each summer is the CRY Festival.
Vacation Bible School
Our VBS program is a week-long event held one week each summer from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Early morning child care is provided for those parents who needed to drop off their children before going to work. It is designed for children age two years through completed sixth grade. In 2009, VBS went to Camp E.D.G.E. (Experience and Discover God Everywhere), so the kids and staff put on their hiking gear as they trekked to:
- The Promised Land
- Bethlehem
- The Pharisees' House
- The Upper Room
- Galilee
