Advent has been about the anticipation of the celebration of the coming of the Christ Child into the world.  We have spent the last three weeks celebrating and anticipating the Hope, Peace, and Joy that Christ brings to our lives.  This Sunday, on our Advent wreath, we will light a candle of Love in the ultimate expectation of fulfilling the promise God gives to us all.  We are loved.

On Christmas Eve we will light the Christ candle and usher in the light of Christmas.  With the lighting of this candle, all 5 candles on our Advent wreath will punch holes in the darkness of the night and illuminate us in the hope, peace, joy and love of the season.

Our Christmas Eve service begins at 6 pm on Saturday, December 24.  Christmas day falls on Sunday this year, so we will be back on Sundaymorning with out 10:30 am service.

But before we get to these special times of worship, this Sunday we have our Children’s Christmas Sing-along in the chapel at 10 am and our fourth Sunday in Advent service at 10:30 am.

As we travel into the new year together, I am thankful to be a partner in ministry with you, and hope that this next year will be an even better opportunity for us to explore our faith journeys in even more significant ways.

There are plenty of needs out there, and we are called to be connected to them.  As we come to the end of this year and look forward, I hope you get some rest, and are recharged for the work we have to do in the future.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
