Rev. Dr. James K. Pohl
Jim & Mary Pohl moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2001 from South County in St. Louis, where Jim served as Pastor of Prince of Peace United Church of Christ for 23 years. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Eden Theological Seminary during that time. Mary is an RN who continues to run clinical trials and work in sales for a pharmaceutical company. They have three grown sons -- two are pilots in the military and the third has completed culinary school in Kansas City. They also have four young granddaughters.
Jim is currently on a three month sabbatical, from July 1st through September 30th.
Rev. Dr. Larry E. Gallamore ~ Pastor/Consultant
Rev. Dr. Larry E. Gallamore is our interim pastor. He has a total of 40 years experience as a pastor in Missouri with recognized expertise in preaching, stewardship, pastoral counseling, adult education, and pastoral leadership. Many Lake Area residents saw Dr. Gallamore’s sermons televised on Sunday morning when he pastored First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. Each Sunday, Larry will share excerpts from his upcoming book “Life Without Limits.” He has published two other books, “Reframing Your Life” and “Telling the Old, Old Story in New, New Ways.” Larry’s wife, Janis, is the Music Director at LOCC. Dr. Janis Gallamore ~ Music Director
Janis joined Lake Ozark Christian Church as Music Director in July 2007. She has a PhD in Psychology and is a licensed practitioner in the State of Missouri. In college she obtained a double minor in piano and voice. As the wife of Dr. Larry Gallamore, a retired minister, she has devoted a major part of her life to music in the church. Contact Janis
Sandy Barnes, Cindi Conley, Lynn Denbow, & Amy Miller ~ Children & Youth Programs
Sandy Barnes leads our CYF (Christian Youth Fellowship) group for high school students. Sandy is the Office and Finance Manager for a local boat brokerage and sales business, and coaches tennis for the School of the Osage High School.
Cindi Conley leads our Chi-Rho group for junior high students, as well as helping out with our children's programs. Cindi is a local business owner and renowned for her fun children's craft activities.
Amy Miller leads our children's programs. She worked on the School of the Osage pre-school program and has extensive experience working with youth in crisis, youth development and early childhood education. Working with Amy is Lynn Denbow, well-known throughout the lake area for her early childhood programs. Lynn is the founder of Sweet Dreamzz, a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization which provides new, safe, cozy pajamas and books to children in need living in the lake area. Rosemary Johnson ~ Secretary
With over 25 years of experienced in administrative support and office management, Rosemary brings extensive skills to our office staff. Rosemary and her husband, Bob, moved to the Lake area after they both retired from Anheiser-Busch in 2004. She likes living close to her daughter and two grandchildren, and enjoys sewing, gardening and scrapbooking in her spare time. Contact Rosemary
