Care Connection was an important part of our church for many years!  Volunteers provided funeral meals, transportation to doctor and dental visits, meals when needed, home and nursing home visits, cards, etc.  I am sure most members of our congregation received some type of contact from a Care Connection volunteer.  It was a very worthwhile program!  Care Connection ended when a volunteer could not be found to continue to lead the program.

At a recent Disciples Women’s Fellowship meeting, the need for a program like Care Connection was discussed.  It was decided to organize a new program called, “TLC-Caring for Families.”  We hope to provide similar services provided by Care Connection.  It will also be a resource program where you may be referred for services available in the community.  Church volunteers will be needed to make this a successful program.

We will have an organizational meeting for TLC-Caring for Families onTuesday, February 6, in the Multipurpose Room.  The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and end by 11:30 am.  We want to know what made Care Connection  a success and what changes need to be made.  If you were involved in Care Connection, we hope you will attend the meeting.  We also want you to attend if you would like to be a part of TLC – Caring for Families.  Do you like to cook, make phone calls, visit, send cards, provide a ride etc.  There will be a job for everyone!

If you cannot attend the meeting, please feel free to call, text, or email your ideas to me.  We need your help to make the new program a success!
