This year’s CROP Walk is going to be great! If you don’t know, the CROP walk is a 5k walk that helps to raise awareness for hunger issues, both local and in the world. Walkers receive pledges and walk. 25% of the proceeds will go to Hope House, and the rest will help with hunger issues in the United States and the world. This year’s walk will happen Saturday, September 14th, at 10:00 a.m. It starts and ends at Ruthie D’s parking lot out on Horseshoe Bend. Registration is at 9:30 a.m.
LOCC is well represented in the leadership of the CROP Walk, and the task group has all been busy making preparations for this annual mission and outreach event.
You can help by signing up to be a walker. If you walk around your neighborhood for exercise, this is a perfect opportunity to get your exercise while helping others. If you can’t walk (or run, if you want) sponsor a walker! You will have several opportunities over the next few weeks! Another way is to eat at local eating establishments who will donate part (10%) of their receipts to CROP. Here is a listing for you!
