Activities & Programs for All
Lake Ozark Christian Church strives to provide a variety of activities and programs for all ages. We have a full time children and youth coordinator, who ensures that we offer age appropriate activities and lessons from pre-K through high school. For adults, we have in-depth bible study in an informal, pleasant atmosphere, as well as fun, social programs. A variety of Outreach activities are always available, both within the church and in our community. And family programs are also included, since they're at the core of our church and just because they're fun!
Adults
There are a variety of activities and programs for adult members of LOCC. New, informal groups also meet but may not be listed here. Our weekly newsletter, The Lake Chimes, gives information on these groups and their various meeting times. Contact our Church Office at 573-365-3366 to request a copy of the newsletter.
Christian Men’s Fellowship (Saturday Breakfast Program)
The men enjoy a catered breakfast each month and offer interesting programs and speakers. The men have had fund raisers for various needs and are eager to support and work on church projects.
Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)
Christian Women’s Fellowship is an organization which includes all women of Lake Ozark Christian Church. Friends and neighbors of the church are also welcome to attend. CWF provides an opportunity for women to learn about the mission of our church in the community and how they can contribute to that mission through their service. Through the CWF annual Fall Rummage Sale, funds are raised to assist our church and various community agencies. These funds are above and beyond any amount designated in the church budget. For example, they have been used in the past to purchase bells for the Bell Choir, school supplies for Hope House, and needs of the Festival of Sharing. The special appeal to any participant is that, unlike some other forms of donation, 100 percent of the funds raised by C.W.F. go directly to the cause intended.
Meetings of the Christian Women’s Fellowship are held on the second Wednesday of month, September through May, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. There is a short business meeting followed by a program with a new topic every month. Topics have included Hope House, Aging, Medical Missions for Christ and Exercising at Home. In September and May there is a luncheon. Regular meetings include a ladies' tea featuring some of the best desserts in the Ozarks!
Golf Program
Men and women golfers get together for fun and to enjoy several outdoor Ozark area courses. Autumn golfing has been added to this summer event.
Grief Support Group
The first phase offered an introductory class in how grief support groups function. The next phase will focus on forming a grief support group sponsored by our church for our congregation.
Intercessionary Prayer Group
The Intercessory Prayer Group meets weekly from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Its purpose is to regularly devote undivided time to pray for the prayer needs of those who attend Lake Ozark Christian Church either as a member or a visitor. Prayer Requests can be completed and placed in the offering plate on Sunday or through the church office. While those with needs can also be listed in the weekly newsletter and Sunday bulletin, those who wish their need to be held confidential are prayed for in private by this group. A prayer journal is maintained and each person’s need is specifically brought before God. The group exists in response to our deeply held belief that God hears and cares about the needs of His people.
Lunch & Learn Seminars
Several seminars were given and devoted to spiritual issues facing Christians today… More planned.
Master’s Gardeners
This is a new gardening group formed to support the landscaping needs of the church and who enjoy working “hands on” in fellowship together, maintaining the outdoor beauty of God’s gathering place. Occasional speakers and outings planned.
Orientation for New Members
New Member Orientation is held quarterly after the 8:15 a.m. worship service. It is comprised of two sessions:
- History and Nature of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
- History and Vision of Lake Ozark Christian Church
Recreation & Entertainment
“Game Nights” are held on Fridays in winter and spring and feature card games, games of skill, board games and other fun activities. The “Celebrity Cruise” excursion around the lake is enjoyed periodically throughout the year.
Craft Social
You don't have to be crafty or creative to join this group! Each week we meet to make a variety of crafts for charitable use, gifts for friends and family and for our own pleasure. We've made quilts, mosaic flower pots, fuzzy flip-flops, birdhouses, pictures, stuffed animals and a variety of other items. The focus is on the fellowship and making new friends, so please join us each Monday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Study Groups
Many small groups have met and studied: “The Light Shall Shine: Advent and Christmas”; “The Gospel of Luke”; “The Book of Acts”; “Hosanna: Holy Week & Easter”; “Psalms of Prayer and Praise”; “The Lord’s Prayer”; “Three Simple Rules”… with many new classes and topics planned for the future.

Our first meeting will be Sunday, January 17th and the class will run though March 28. We'll meet in the Meditation Room from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Looking forward to seeing you then. --

Tuesday Ladies’ Lunch Bunch
Each Tuesday at noon, an informal group of ladies meets at a local restaurant for lunch and chatting. The restaurant changes each week, so check with the church office or the bulletin board for the next location.
Women's Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study meets every Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. starting in September and ending in late May. It is one of the longest standing groups in the church and at one time consisted of studying books with Christian topics. Today, however, it is a direct study of the Bible. A book of the Bible is chosen in the Fall. Each member buys an inexpensive workbook by Explorer Bible Study, an interdenominational publisher. One chapter of the Bible book being studied is covered each week. Participants gain an in depth understanding of the scripture for the week through a daily Bible reading and answering questions in the workbook. The purpose of the study is to learn:
- What does God say?
- What does it mean?
- How can it be applied to everyday life?
Monthly salad luncheons and weekly fellowship make the group a closely bonded one. It is open to anyone who wants the power of the Holy Spirit to enlighten the word and daily bible study to lead to spiritual growth.
Families

Families are celebrated at Lake Ozark Christian Church. We have families who have been with us for generations and families who have just recently joined us. We strive to provide quality programs for all, and it's always entertaining to watch the young ones and older members interact.
Choir
Our choir leads both worship services on Sunday mornings and at additional special events. The choir rehearses together on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and prior to each Sunday service. While many sing nearly every Sunday, just as many simply sing when they are at the Lake. In choosing music for choirs, solos and ensembles, we give attention to the wide variety of Christian music available, selecting classics written centuries ago as well as gentle and foot-stomping comtemporary music composed recently. Our adult choir performs each Sunday and periodically, we have special music programs from our Sunday School, CCF, Children's Church and Youth groups. Please see our Music Ministries page for more information on all of our music programs.”
Community Outreach
Youth and adults alike participate in a wide variety of community outreach projects at Lake Ozark Christian Church. Whether it's ringing bells for the Salvation Army, preparing a hot dinner for local shelters or caring for our own members in need, the congregation at LOCC is a giving and caring one.
