Easter Worship Service?

Today is Good Friday, and sad to say, there’s not much good news to share.  Our world has been turned upside down by an invisible foe – the Corona Virus.  At this moment there have been over 1.6 million cases reported worldwide: just under a half million in our nation, alone.  If that’s not bad enough, CDC officials say the worst isn’t over, yet.  Now I know that none of this is news to you.  We’re all watching TV reports (What else is there to do?). I’m only mentioning these facts to drive home the importance of observing the Stay-at-Home guidelines.  That being said, I also know how important it is to have contact with others.  There are many ways to do this: 1) phone calls; 2) emails; 3) social media; and 4) greeting cards.  Still there is this desire to be with others, especially at Easter.  Several people have suggested we meet at the church parking lot at 10:30 a.m. Easter morning where we can stay in our cars and wave to each other.  I’ll be posting my Easter sermon on YouTube and Facebook along with a song by Ronnie Crammer.  You could sit in your car watch these videos (not mandatory, he said smiling) and have some semblance of being at church (Not the same, but better than nothing).  We just want to emphasize the importance of keeping a safe distance apart.  If you’re comfortable with this idea, come join us!
