A Pastor’s Perspective

A special thanks to Cliff Worthy for bringing his power washer (in the rain) and finishing up clean-up on our Chapel in the Woods.  This Sunday (weather permitting) we will return to our outdoor worship center!   All this while celebrating Memorial Day.

As we look ahead to our summer, we are reminded about our upcoming capital campaign!  Three years ago, our church launched a very successful campaign to make our building payments and reduce our debt.  That campaign ends on June 30.   Your participation in the new campaign will insure our continued progress toward our goal of making our church debt free!  Can you imagine that?  Lake Ozark Christian Church being debt free?  Be sure to join us on June 3 as we kick off this exciting time in the life of our church!

Another event you won’t want to miss is this year’s Vacation Bible School!  It will happen on June 24-27 from 5:30 pm until 8 pm.  Our theme is “Shipwrecked! :Rescued By Jesus”, and will feature programming for kids and adults!  The evenings will begin with a meal at 5:30, so you won’t have to cook on those nights!  We still need help, so volunteer today!

We have an amazing congregation that travels a lot!  If everyone was in town at one time and came to church, our sanctuary would be full on Sunday mornings.  We know that is not the case here.  Your being in worship is an opportunity to give praise to God and celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ with your faith family.  When you are here, it makes a difference!  Our sanctuary is fuller, and we are much more attractive to those who visit.  So if you are away, be safe and know that we can’t wait to see you again!   If you are here, be sure to make it to church!  Your presence makes our worship shine even brighter!

Have a Safe Memorial Day Weekend!

It’s busy!

This time of year is always super busy.  Graduations celebrated, end of school activities, the Magic Dragon Car Show, and also the celebration of Mother’s Day.  Just after that, Memorial Day and the official kick-off to the summer season here at the lake.

Last week we resumed our 8:30 a.m. service, and will look forward to moving out to the “Chapel in the Woods” on Sunday, May 20 to allow for all of the oak pollen to stop and the outdoor chapel to be cleaned up.  We also started a special class called “The Bible and Other Stuff that will run through May.

There are lots of things happening, and you are invited to be part of it!  Why not start this week for Mother’s Day!  I hope to see you here as we lift our praise to God and once again gather as a faith community to build relationships and prepare ourselves to go into the world to share the Good News of Jesus Christ!

See you soon!
